Children's Convention (Ages 4 - 11)
Jump! Faith in Motion
Friday and Saturday, May 30 and 31, 2014
Jump! Faith in Motion is this year's theme for the CHEA Children's Convention. Carr Ministries will present this year's Children's Convention for kids age 4-11. Participants will discover the scientific wonders of motion while exploring the lives of those in the Bible who had radical faith. The children will also be encouraged throughout the weekend by learning the following Memory Verse: “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young. Set an example for the believers in what you say and in how you live,” (1 Timothy 4:12, NIrV). Register your child(ren) when you register for the Convention. Space is on a first-come, first-served basis.
One important scientific example of motion is the earth being in orbit around the sun. This motion causes a significant change in temperature, creating the four seasons we experience and know as; winter, spring, summer and fall. Just as it is necessary for the earth to move, so is it necessary for us to put our faith in motion to develop Christ like character, being an example for believers and shining light in the world for all to see.
To help students learn how to put their faith in motion, together everyone will explore and enjoy a range of fun hands-on science experiments, crafts and games. In addition, Students will have a front row seat to Paul's story of faith—a never-ending adventure. They will JUMP into the middle of Paul’s journey watching the story of his radical faith unfold. Beginning at the defining moment of his faith being sparked by the light on the road to Damascus, to shipwrecks, jailbreaks, and courtroom drama.
Jon and Debra Carr have been married 38 years and are veteran home educators. Their home education journey began in 1983 through 1998 when their youngest son graduated from South Bay Faith Academy’s Home Education Program. Even though their children are now adults, Jon and Debra have continued their involvement and support of home education programs. Together they’ve worked for close to 30 years serving in ministry to children and families
All children attending the Children’s Convention must have a completed medical release form when checking in at the Children’s Convention. When registering online, all you need to do is check the medical release agreement box until you arrive at the event, at which time you will be asked for your signature. If you pre-register or register through any other means, you will need to provide a printed/signed medical release form before you can leave your children at the Children’s Convention.
*Please note: The Children's Convention does not include lunch. Parents must pick up their children for lunch by 12:30 p.m. and return them by 1:30 p.m.
