How many of us began homeschooling excited about raising our children to become godly adults? It doesn’t seem to have taken long to fall into a rut of textbooks and fields trips. This isn’t exactly what you envisioned, is it?
I remember those first few years under the burden of academics. There came a point when I wondered if this is what Christian homeschooling was about. Yes, we used Christian curriculum. Yes, all of my children had prayed for God’s forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Yes, we read the Bible daily and my children memorized Bible verses.
Still something was missing. I didn’t feel that we were impacting our children’s lives, or for that matter our entire family. Were we educating for the future, including future generations? We needed to change our foundation. We, mom and dad, needed to learn more and rebuild our spiritual groundwork.
Are you exhausted from the academic rut? Do you feel like you need something more?
