Description
“George Orwell said, “The most effective way to destroy a people is to deny and obliterate their understanding of their own history.” In the former USSR, censorship, rewriting of history, and eliminating undesirable people became part of the Soviets’ effort to ensure that the correct ideological and political spin was put on their history. Deviation from official propaganda was punished. We see many of the same techniques actively in use in America today and the results aren’t pretty. That’s why we need to pay attention to the saying, “Those who don’t know their history are condemned to repeat it!”
