People have described me as "body smart." I did everything movement-related early – from crawling and pulling up to standing, to walking and talking. My parents gave me a trampoline at age two because they knew I needed an outlet for my boundless energy. Believing that a traditional classroom would slow me down and not allow me the freedom to move, my parents decided to homeschool me and my two sisters using a Bible-based curriculum. This unique educational path allowed us to explore our interests deeply and rigorously, nurturing my academic, social, and spiritual growth. Within this nurturing environment, I discovered my passion for kinesiology, a field that aligns with my desire to help others recover or maintain their body movement.

Throughout my homeschooling experience, I have pursued a rigorous curriculum that emphasized both science and physical education. I have taken advanced courses in biology, chemistry, and anatomy and physiology, which have provided me with a solid foundation in understanding the human body and its functions. My participation in dance and volleyball further enhanced my comprehension of human movement. Additionally, my studies in nutrition and health science, as well as culinary fundamentals, have equipped me with the knowledge to develop effective wellness programs. These academic endeavors, combined with my dedication to helping others, have thoroughly prepared me for the challenges and responsibilities of a kinesiology career.

Homeschooling also fostered a sense of community and fellowship. Whether participating in my youth group, serving in my community, or simply engaging in social activities, I experienced genuine camaraderie and companionship with my homeschooled peers. These experiences have helped me become more socially intuitive, an essential trait for a profession geared towards helping others. The support and encouragement from my homeschool community has been instrumental in shaping my character and aspirations. The bonds I formed and the lessons I learned through these interactions have deeply influenced my approach to collaboration.

In addition to academic and social growth, homeschooling has allowed me the resources needed to strengthen my faith. Through Bible-based curriculum, my church's weekly youth group, and personal devotionals, I have gained a deeper understanding of the Bible and Christian principles. These spiritual practices have supplied me with the tools to effectively minister to those around me. My homeschooling journey has shown me the importance of integrating faith into every aspect of life, preparing me to live a compassionate and others-centered life. This deep-rooted faith will guide me in my professional life, ensuring that I approach each patient with compassion, understanding, and a commitment to their overall well-being.

Homeschooling has been a pivotal experience in my life, shaping my abilities, passions, and spiritual growth. It has prepared me to step into the world as a compassionate and knowledgeable individual, ready to make a meaningful impact on others' lives. My journey to kinesiology and commitment to my personal Christian development are testaments to the profound influence of homeschooling. Being made to move, I am excited to advance down God's path for me, supporting the well-being of the community and empowering others to reach their full potential in life.
