CHEA is so thankful for the homeschool community in California. We acknowledge that homeschool families already give so much. Every day you give of your time, make sacrifices, remain faithful to your calling, and do it all for the raising up of your families. As we live in California, we understand the financial reality of how expensive it is to live and raise a family in our current economic climate. Whatever season you are in, we invite you to partner with CHEA this Giving Tuesday in whatever way works for you!

Giving Through Prayer

CHEA continually prays for you - those of you who are in the battle, on the frontlines of home education. But did you know CHEA needs your prayers as well? We covet the prayers of the homeschool community. Please pray for CHEA's mission, our staff, their families, and that we would be good stewards of what the Lord has provided. Specifically, please pray for the following:

Will you commit to giving some of your time to intercede on our behalf? We would love to know you're praying for us. Feel free to reach out and let us know! Prayer is the most tangible, essential form of giving.

Rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer. Romans 12:12 (all Scripture references are NKJV)

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. Ephesians 6:18

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6

Pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Brethren, pray for us. 1 Thessalonians 5:25

The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. James 5:16b

Giving Through Time and Talent

Did you know that CHEA loves volunteers? We rely on volunteers to run almost all of our events. Whether it's a smaller mini-con or our Annual Parenting & Homeschool Convention, these events couldn't happen without families like yours. If you have the gift of helps, whether it's filling welcome bags, serving coffee, or directing people to where they need to go, we need you. Or maybe you have other talents, such as graphic design, marketing, or development. We'd love to connect and see how we can utilize the talents the Lord has given you to further CHEA's mission.

At our mini-cons this past month in Redding and Fresno, it was so wonderful to see the local homeschool community come together to help with registration, print labels, set up tables, and genuinely encourage one another. One of the greatest gifts you can give is to lead or mentor local homeschool families. As I spoke with a brand-new homeschooler at one of these events, I witnessed another mom from the area come up to us and connect with her. She then introduced her to other moms and helped her get connected with families in her area. This was a beautiful example of stepping out in faith. This is what strengthens the homeschool community.

The Parable of the Talents is a perfect illustration. If the Lord has given you a talent, don't bury it!

So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.' Matthew 25:20-21

Please share your talents with CHEA and help us further our mission to promote, provide, and protect private Christian home education in California! If you are interested in volunteering, we would love to connect with you and learn more about your interests and availability. To get started, please complete this questionnaire. Once we receive your submission, a member of Team CHEA will reach out to you with further information and next steps.

Giving Through Financial Gifts

As this is Giving Tuesday, we kindly ask that if you have the capacity to give financially, you will do so. Giving to CHEA enables us to fulfill our mission.

The mission of the Christian Home Educators Association of California is to advance the Kingdom of Jesus Christ by promoting private Christian home education as an outstanding educational opportunity; providing information, training, and support to the homeschool community; and protecting the God-given right of parents to direct the education and training of their children, to the glory of God.

Did you know you can set up monthly giving? Even $5 a month helps further our mission. No amount is too small. Have you heard the saying, "Where God guides, He provides?" That is what we hold onto here at CHEA. We've seen God do miracles. Do you remember the story in the Bible about the loaves and the fishes?

But Jesus said to them, "They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat."

And they said to Him, "We have here only five loaves and two fish. "He said, "Bring them here to Me." Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes. So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained. Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children. Matthew 14:16-21

We have seen God do miracles through the smallest amounts here at CHEA. Will you please consider giving today to be part of the miracle God is working through His faithfulness and continues to do in and through CHEA to help families disciple their children through home education?

Giving Through Advocacy and Word-of-Mouth

You can advocate for homeschool freedom in conversations with family and friends by defending homeschooling and sharing how God is working in your family through home education. Just as important is staying up-to-date on what’s happening in Sacramento and making phone calls or writing letters when dangerous legislation threatens our homeschool freedom.

Lastly, will you share CHEA with friends and family? Share CHEA's resources, including our website, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube channel, and repost our content on your social media platforms. Like, subscribe, and share CHEA's California Homeschool Podcast. Forward our weekly Connection and share our blog posts. The bigger CHEA's reach, the more families we can help! Spreading CHEA's mission multiplies our impact!

Remember, on this Giving Tuesday, you answered a calling when you began homeschooling. You are not just teaching your children, but your children's children. Homeschooling is a generational, family-building calling. CHEA is grateful for however you choose to partner with us, whether it's through prayer, giving of your time and talents, financial support, or advocacy and word of mouth. CHEA thanks you!
