Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
Must have been privately homeschooled (not enrolled in a public school program), with parents teaching at home at least 51% of the time and at least 51% of the academic subjects, for at least the last four years
Must be at least 16 by December 1 of the scholarship year and no older than 19 on June 30 the spring the award is granted
Applicant's parents must have been CHEA Members since at least August 1 of the academic year in which you are applying for the scholarship award, with membership maintained through July 31 of the following academic year in which the student is enrolled in the college/school and the scholarship is actually given
Must be accepted for admission to a college (including community college), university, or accredited career/vocational school in August/September of the award year
Must be able to attend the Saturday morning General Session of the Annual Convention, if selected to receive the scholarship. CHEA will provide for transportation and one night's housing for the scholarship winner and one parent if they live more than 100 miles from the Convention site
*For the purposes of this scholarship, the student must have been taught at home by his/her parents at least 51% of the time and at least 51% of the academic subjects to be considered homeschooled. Courses taken other places, i.e. college courses taken during high school, co-op courses, etc., should be noted.
