What kind of legacy are you leaving for your homeschool group? Are you planning for the future? Do you
find yourself looking around and wondering who will fill your shoes when God calls you away from your
ministry?
When you are in the throes of leadership, trying to manage communication, programming, relationships,
conflict, paperwork, and more, it’s easy to overlook or push planning for your departure to the back
burner. Whether you have plans to stay in your position for just a few months or another decade, it’s
vital to the future of your group that you be raising up the next generation of leaders.
So, how does one do that with all of the other responsibilities we have as leaders? We invite you to
join us this year for CHEA’s “Leaving a Legacy” Conference series. Our knowledgeable and encouraging
speakers will explore this theme of raising the next generation of homeschool leaders. Our prayer is
that you will become better equipped and encouraged as you lead your homeschool community.
TBD
Parental Rights, Homeschool Freedom, and California: In this action-packed and fast-paced presentation, Will discusses the history of parental rights from the dawn of civilization to present day, how homeschooling fits in, and the challenges and battles ahead. Will discusses the legal and legislative battles in California, past, present, and future, as well as what HSLDA has been seeing across the state of California.
Like changing seasons, leadership has its own cycles of growth, challenges, and rest. Knowing how to recognize and embrace these different seasons, and trusting that God works through each, can help us find renewal in times of weariness.
Join me in this workshop as we explore the trials and adventures of leadership, share stories of resilience, and encourage one another to keep moving forward. Together, we can navigate the challenges of leadership and emerge stronger, more faithful, and more united in our mission to support parents who choose Christian homeschooling for their kids. Remember, hard is just hard, not impossible.
Our nation’s founding fathers and pioneers left us a rich legacy to consider as we teach our children to value and preserve liberty. Zan discusses the lessons we can learn from our history as we determine what type of legacy we need to leave for those who follow us. Topics include six traits of servant leaders, what it takes to fill the leadership gap, and how not to alienate your spouse or children while working to encourage other homeschool families. You’ll learn ways to effectively incorporate your children in your efforts so that your leadership becomes a mission that unites your family rather tearing it apart.
Free parking is available at The Chapel of Grossmont. A delicious Mexican dinner buffet will include gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian options.
At-the-door registration will be available; however, we encourage you to register by August 21 as we need to supply a final count to the caterer prior to the event. Meals may not be available if registering after August 21. However, we occasionally have a few spaces available, so if you miss the online registration deadline, please call to see if there are still meals available.
The Leadership Conference (including dinner) is designed to help encourage and equip those leading private home education groups, including PSPs, co-ops, support groups, and more. Leaders do not need to be part of CHEA’s Support Network to attend Leadership Conference.
250 and 450 Support Network Members receive admission for two to the Summer Leadership Conference, if not previously used in 2024.
The Leadership Conference is for adults only. No childcare will be provided. Nursing infants whose parents are considerate of others are welcome.
